The Crazies (2010) Summary:

Give two examples of events that later cause events in the film, but which ‘occur’ before the film start’:

-        -   Rory Hamill, a local resident. Enters a baseball game holding a shotgun, the sheriff is forced to shoot and kill Rory who is unresponsive.

-      -  The plane crash submerged under a local river which has contaminated the towns water supply which results in the resident’s odd behavior.

-          Local farmer sets his house on fire with his wife and son inside, killing them both.

List two events from the 92-minute film that happen in a different time and space to the one we are shown:

-       -   The military monitoring the town, taking satellite shots from space of the town and the river with the submerged plane.   

 

 

Identify the key plot twist in the film that you would associate with the three-act structure (Act 1 = set-up/normality, Act 2 = Confrontation/Disruption, Act 3 = Resolution/Restoration of normality):

-          Act 1: The incident at the baseball game, Rory shot and killed, it is discovered there was no alcohol in his system, Local farmer Bill burns his house down with wife and son inside killing them both. Finding the plane crash and discovering it had contaminated the water supply which results in the resident’s odd behavior.

-          Act 2: Becca is killed by the infected in an attack, the helicopters destroy the car. Russell discovers he is infected and threatens Judy and David. He later dies while distracting soldiers at a blockade so Judy and David can sneak past. 

-          Act 3: Ogden Marsh destroyed in explosion, Judy and David find a diner and escape with the truck. they both find the nearest town and 'escape.
